Happy Holidays!

I have received a few e-mails asking me why I have not blogged in 6 months! This sums up my life right now... 6 months?? Really, a lot has happened in 6 months! I can honestly say I have been

so busy with shoots and my family I have not had time to blog.

I am so appreciative of my clients, for keeping me busy this year, and all the love and support when it comes to my work.

A Note or two-

Shewestudio.com is pretty much ready to launch, I found out when I added the photos I put them in way too big, so it was running slow... So I will resize and reload when I have a moment... (6 months from now?! ) ; ) Hopefully not!

I am excited about the 2 weddings we have in January, Very excited, beautiful brides!

Last note for today,

One of my favorite things....

When our 3 year old wakes up in the morning... his smell is warm love.... I can't start my day until I rub my nose all over his face taking in the smell of my baby....

I know he is 3, but he is still our baby.

This sweet family traveled from Colorado, we booked this session months ago. Not only did I shoot Leah's family, but I also shot her little sister's rehearsal dinner and wedding. I can pleasantly say, I saw a lot of Leah that weekend!

I am not sure my studio will ever be the same! LOL! ; )

I have to say once again, I am a very bad blogger!

We have been very busy, and I haven't had a lot of time to actually sit down and write.... Or rather sit down and write a correct complete sentence! LOL! So I apologize now for those who are offended by my horrible sentence structure or run on sentences! Hopefully, you are here to view my art and not my grammar.

For those of you who really know me, you know that most of my postings and e-mails, are just like the way I talk... fast, and straight to the point! I am not ashamed to say that my ADD gets the best of me! (again, very busy, and afraid I am going to loose the thought!)

I am sorry!!!

I need to apologize to all of my recent clients... This last couple of months have been absolutely nuts! We have been traveling quite a bit for business, and have been completely over booked. I have definitely learned a valuable lesson.. : ) SLOW DOWN!

We are settling a bit, and I am catching up on the last two months of family, wedding, advertising, and magazine shoots... I promise to be caught up by the end of next week!

We are very excited, inspired, and truly appreciate all the love and support from our clients, friends, and family.

Senior portrait sneak peek

I had this lovely young lady come in for a "Senior portrait session" She was a lot of fun, and a very willing subject. We took "Senior" photos to another level... a lot of fashion, a touch of tradition, and tons of Urban, we had an amazing session!

I always get a kick out of first time mommies-to-be.... They think they are huge at 7 months! When Hillary was 34 weeks she came in for the first time, I took one look at her belly and said "You need to come back to me in 3 or 4 weeks!" She could not imagine getting any bigger... Being a mom of three myself I have a little bit of experience in this area. : )

Hillary did come back, and she did get much bigger! Ok, I still think she has a lot of growing to do... I know she does not want to hear that! Hillary and Andrew are both glowing, and loving the experience of being with child.

Sneak peek...

I think I may have said over and over again "She is so beautiful!" This tiny little lady came to see me the first time at 6 weeks. I just photographed her again last week with all of her very active cousins... (will post that sneak peek next week)

I remember when....

I remember the day 5 1/2 years ago, I photographed April's very pregnant belly. Two children later, I am still photographing her beautiful family.

I love watching children grow around me... first teeth, first steps, first words, first potties, first days of school, loosing teeth. Firsts.. only a mother would know. I remember shooting little "L's" baby announcements, now she is almost three! I put some storyboards together for mom and dad, thought I would change it up a bit.. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this final photo shoot of the day! Big sister is so beautiful and very easy to photograph!

(She was really excited about modeling the firefly kids jewelry)

This handsome little man was my third three year old of the day, and he was quite the charmer. : )

2 boys and a doll

I am skipping ahead with this particular sneak peek, and the reason is to show a sample family storyboard. My dear Friend has her hands full with these 2 boys! luckily this little doll is tough enough to stand up to the rodeo!

I have been shooting this family for over 4 years, possibly longer. All three are very comfortable

with me behind the camera.

I will be adding to your gallery tomorrow.

Sweetness!

This little girl was very happy to have her photo taken, as long as she didn't have to share the blue polka dotted chair! she was my 2nd 3 year old of the day. The girls really loved this chair, I need a few of those to shove in my camera bag! She is adorned with my firefly jewelry line, and will definitely be used as one of my firefly website models. This is first of the children's portrait sessions, We did 3 families in one day... not to mention 3 three year olds in one day! I always enjoy the challenge of shooting 3 year olds, they do not like to to look at the camera very long! ok, really they are done after 5 minutes! I will capture them, I will!

Having a 7 1/2, 5 1/2, and 2 year old, I know something about the 3's... in my opinion the hardest age to capture, but the most rewarding.

I adore this family, they are very sweet and I loved shooting at their home.

Santa party sneak peeks!

As I arrived to the marvelous santa party, (25 minutes late!) Just in time to be rushed into the room where Santa or "Santa's helper" ( according to my 7 year old) was sitting with eager little ones on his lap. The smiles and tears reminded me of being a kid, wanting so badly for the magic to be real. I believed reindeers could fly... It is the spirit of Christmas that lasts forever, we create magic in our own lives everyday.

The photos I am excited about are not the kids sitting on Santa's lap, they are the portraits that will remain a treasure forever.. Capturing the innocence, and pure love that comes from within your child. Thanks for sharing your little ones with me, the excitement of life shines through their eyes. Priceless

Moving In!!

We finally received the letter of occupancy! We will be moving into the studio all next week. (very slowly, my husband has a broken wrist) : (

I still do not feel like it is really happening... I was packing the office yesterday, procrastinating .. finding old love notes from my husband, old photos of the past and then stopped packing and just filled orders instead. I will continue today.. my back is killing me because I am not bending at the knees! The last couple of nights I have been really sore.

We are in such a state of transition, please know that most photo jobs will be posted by the end of next week. Here are first portrait shots in the studio.

I will post an after photo of the finished studio, as soon as the finishing touches of paint are applied to the outside.

Tucson Firefighters catalog

The city of Tucson hired me to shoot the Tucson Firefighter recruitment catalog... CATALOG.. Not Calender! Maybe next time! The shoot turned out really cool. Firefighters/paramedics, these guys/gals work really hard.. I spent some time shooting up into their roll over prop and the burn room.. HOT!! SMOKE!!

Imagine putting yourself out there everyday, rain or shine to protect someone else's family. Think about it.. I am so thankful for what it is they do everyday. When our third baby was 10 weeks old he stopped breathing and had to be air evacuated to the hospital.. rescue breaths on your own baby is very scary. Those paramedics saved his life. Thank You!!!

I am going to try to catch up on my blogging. We have been so busy this last month... Let me start by showing some photos of a couple sweeties real close to my heart. These shots were taken in Los Angeles. Their dad is a professional photographer (no pressure on me!) and mom is one of my closest friends.. my walk to starbucks

I have been thinking about the way I see life... usually as a movie, or painting.. always in color with perfect lighting.. I was attending a 4 day workshop in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago, I would get up early around 5:30 A.M. and take a quick shower and then walk the streets of Los Angeles searching for a Starbucks : ) Yes, I am an addict. I had camera in tow trying to capture what I love and hate most about Los Angeles the 10 years I lived here.

I found the buildings structure most fascinating and rich with color, when I lived here I never noticed. The graffiti was a blend of dirt and expression, not sure if it was truly on the hate list... (more on that later) By the time I got into class I was always a bit shiny.. I walked about 3 miles and a 100 photos later, I was ready to start learning. I remembered my ADD meds and had to type and take notes the whole time in order to keep my brain from wondering.

In the evenings I would hang out with my girlfriends and shoot their portraits wearing my jewelry she.we jewelry

I saw 4 of my closest friends in Los Angeles, I wish I would have had more time with them.. especially you Leslie. The time I had with Grayson meant more to me than anything else.

And I really want to thank Peter and Beth-Ami for everything : ) You guys are the best!

So, enough about my love for my friends in LA, I had to get home to my family and friends in Arizona. I missed my night time kisses so much! I missed my husband and needed a hug.

The days are a bit slower here, more relaxed. (The cigarettes in the photo are random!)

I am going to post some photos taken on my walk in the morning in search of coffee.. You may see what I see, you may see something completely different... that is the beauty of art. Interpretation.

It is good to be back, and I miss you already.

Rocky point trip! Triathlon/family vacation/cinco de mayo

First of all I want to congratulate Jennifer Lawrence on winning her division for the sprint triathlon! Go Jen! my brother Kevin did his first sprint and is currently training for an Olympic. Cody, Erik, and Carrie did great in the relay triathlon. My hot husband Cam did the Olympic triathlon... and might I say looks great in a speedo! :) I worked really hard holding a camera ( I brought my old camera up so I would not get sand in my good one) And drinking a margarita with the rest of the group spectators (Jen C, Dre, and Rod) our trip was fun and relaxing.. all of our parents came along to help with the kids and get some R&R of their own. I will have to do a few posts to get more photos up.
